Our historic building has endured 125 years of exposure to harsh New England weather. Signs of wear prompted an engineering evaluation to address concerns around safety and water tightness. Construction plans were developed by the engineering team for a three-phase restoration. To fund repairs, a Capital Campaign was launched in October of 2023 entitled Partners in Restoration. To date, members of the congregation have donated more than [$365K] to fund the effort.
Phase one began in June 2025 and incorporated demolition and replacement of our cracked coping, repointing of our full stone masonry façade, replacing worn flashing, and repair of the large window over our red front door. Completion is expected around the end of November 2025, accomplishing roughly 70% of our overall restoration. Phase two is planned to commence in 2026 and will include reframing of windows. Phase three, repair of our stained-glass windows will follow in subsequent years.
