Music

We share our voices and music for the glory of God!

Whether you join in the singing from the congregation or as a member of our choir, music is a central part of our worship and celebration of our faith at St James. From the reverent to the joyous, the St James Choir enriches our liturgy with music ranging from plainsong and Anglican Chant and Tudor motets to Anglican music of the 21st Century – and more!

LEND YOUR VOICE

Our St James Choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 Parish Hall – and singing at the 10am Eucharist on Sunday mornings, from September through May. There is a brief Sunday morning rehearsal at 9:15am, before the 10am service.

Membership in the choir is open to those with previous singing experience and a desire to meet for regular practice in singing a classical liturgical repertoire. Services of Choral Evensong as well as other opportunities exist for the choir to sing outside of regular Sunday services.

LEND A HAND
Expenses associated with maintaining our choir include sheet music, royalties, occasional freelance musical assistance (guest instrumentalists, vocalists, etc), and maintenance (to keep our physical pipes in good working conditions). Your contribution to the St James Church Music Fund will help us continue to provide the inspiring sounds that enhance all of the services that take place in our church.
