The Hospitality of God
Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome at Saint James. Visitors first notice the inclusiveness of our parish, which welcomes and embraces all who walk through our doors. There is an authentic, genuine quality to St. James that draws people in. One recent visitor observed that he was moved by St. James’ worship style, “a combination of traditional liturgy and informality.” Members of our community have described St. James as: “Christ-centered, Joyful, Spiritual, Inviting, Warm, Friendly with Wonderful Music and a sense of Belonging
On Sundays we offer two unique services for spiritual reflection, renewal and Holy Communion.
Our 8:00 a.m. service is a celebration of The Holy Eucharist, Rite I. It is a quiet, reflective and spoken service with traditional language. We come together in the Chancel area to celebrate Holy Communion.
Our 10:00 a.m. service is a celebration of The Holy Eucharist, Rite II. This service provides beautiful music and contemporary language. Children attend our outstanding Church School during the 10am service and return to receive Communion with their families at the end of the liturgy. Nursery care for birth-preschool is available throughout the morning.
Four Sundays in the year we hold a Family Service with a Children’s Homily. The children are also invited to gather around the Altar when Fr. John Celebrates Communion. Check our website announcements and calendar for date for a Family Service.
We also have services throughout Holy Week and on other occasions.
St. James boasts a magnificent choir that together and separately provide glorious music during our 10:00am service. Our services involve as many parishioners as possible who serve as Acolytes, Chalice bearers, Choir Members, Ushers, Greeters, Lectors and Altar Guild. We encourage everyone- even our young people – to participate in these ministries.
