Celebrants and Preachers in May – at 8 and 10AM

During the month of May, our rector will be taking a short sabbatical and return on Sunday, May 27, the Day of Pentecost, for a special celebration. Rev. Susan has chosen two inspiring ordained friends to celebrate Holy Eucharist and share their reflections on God’s Word at St. James with a Sunday for Morning Prayer during the remaining weeks of Easter.

May 6th, The Reverend Oliver Jones

The Reverend Oliver (Ollie) Jones, our supply clergy for May 6, is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He is currently serving as assistant rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Newburyport. He has special interests in electronic ministry and in working with young people and is active in the Lower Merrimack Valley Collaborative, along with our rector.

May 13th, The Reverend Lyn Brakeman

The Rev. Lyn G. Brakeman, our supply priest for Sunday May 13, is an Episcopal priest recently retired and living in Cambridge. She is the co-coordinator in our diocese for the Education for Ministry program of Christian formation, a facilitator of clergy groups, writes a blog www.spirituallemons.blogspot.com, and has published two books with a memoir seeking publication.

May 20th, Morning Prayer will be offered

Arthur Yarranton (8am) and Pam Fenner (10am) will officiate. Jim Chapman will preach at 10.

This begins the final week of celebrating Easter with a portion of Jesus’ prayer that he offered for his disciples on the night before he died. The sense of unity within the fellowship of Jesus’ disciples is the same model for us: mission and grace from God.

May 27, The Day of Pentecost – ONE service: 10am

Our rector returns for this annual celebration: the birthday of the Church! Organist Matt Siess, vocal soloist Johanna Hoyt Kimball and trumpeter Dana Oakes will join together and present special music for this holy feast day. Wear red and come prepared to rejoice that we are filled with the Spirit of God!

Please offer our warm, St. James’ hospitality, and join us for worship.
